Heavenbound field is located about four miles north
east of Johnstown, OH. Heavenbound field is
registered as a private airfield, but may not appear
on the chart. The airstrip is 900' almost level sod, and
runs directly East and West. It is in the middle of
two crop fields giving it no obstacles at either end
of the runway for a quarter of a mile. It is plenty
for any Ultralight, as well as most Light Sport and
many General Aviation aircraft. Click on chart
images below to enlarge.
Everyone
is welcome to land here, but keep in mind that it is
a private strip, and you will be landing at your own
risk. I cannot guarantee the safety of the airstrip
for obvious liability reasons. As pilot in command,
you will have to make that call.
Hours of Operation: We have no set hours. I work
full time, so everything is done by appointment
evenings and weekends. Please call ahead. If you
want to fly down, I can have gas for you if you let
me know ahead of time. I will schedule flight
instruction or just a plain visit, most evenings or
anytime during the weekend except Sunday morning, we
will be in church. Just let me know!

Please
see the link above to see it marked on the chart. As
you can see, if you find Johnstown, and fly
Northeast, about three miles, you will be right over
me. There are high tension power lines about a half
mile north of the field, if you are flying north and
cross those, you went too far. Also you will see a
huge chicken farm with many sites of green and white
pole barns, ponds, irrigation circles, and a big
feed mill with six grain bins. I am on the east side
of their land. Probably the easiest way to find me
is to go to the chicken farm feed mill which can be
seen for 10-15 miles on a clear day, and fly south a
little less than a mile, you will cross the power
lines, then go east about a 1 1/2 miles, and you
will fly right down the runway. Just stay about 1/2
mile south of the power lines and you can’t miss it.
There is a site of chicken barns on the west end of
the runway about 1/4 mile out.
If you look at the
picture of the Challenger on the
home page, it is sitting on the west end of the
runway, looking north west. You can see the power
lines behind the airplane, and if you look close you
will see the feed mill on the tip of the right wing.
It is a huge white concrete building with huge grain
bins in a row behind it.
